Question Received: Were there broadband or telecommunication bills brought up in the Emergency Summer session of the General Assembly since COVID-19 has been made us so aware of the importance of fiber connections?

Question Received: Has the Governor's budget for broadband survived as originally projected?

Who would be the primary POC for coordination between state departments? The situation is somewhat unique in that the state has funded a project (DHCD); however, an agreement for facility use is needed through a different state agency (DOF, DGS).

Will the new 5G technology help the affordability issue?

Question Received: SPTC has always advocated for legislation and funding that supports the needs of the technology sector in our region. Aside from the importance of the equity issues, we also feel there is a tremendous ROI for addressing broadband needs. We would appreciate the talking points from your office would be very useful for us to use in crafting our comments for our legislators.
