Please feel free to type your questions directly in the chat line - I will start to send in some of the questions that were sent in directly to our office
lgreen
22:11
How do you get appointments?
lgreen
22:17
Do you need an appointment?
lgreen

How do you sign up on-line?

If vaccines can be administered in the workplace, what actions can companies take to encourage employees to get vaccinated?
Carol Glaub
23:36
Do employers who have people currently eligible need to give employees verification of eligibility or a code to get vaccinated?
Lynda Elmore
24:50
What does an 84 year old in Southside Virginia have to do to become vaccinated? Aigned up at the health department but is way down in the list for the vaccination. Why would an 84 year old be way down on the list?
Cindy Lewis
25:10
After someone has received both shots, do they have to quarantine if they are exposed to COVID-19?
lgreen
25:14
How can vaccines be scheduled to better avoid downtime - particularly in the case of the second shot? Should companies discourage mass vaccinations of all employees at once to avoid this?
Betty Adams
25:15
I signed up my seniors online 3 or 4 weeks ago, but when I checked with the local health department this week they were not in the system. So, we added them over the phone. Where is the online pre-registration data housed if not at the local health departments. Will this delay getting my seniors vaccinated? Very frustrating.

26:40
My senior mom has been on a list her in Halifax for three weeks or so and has not been called however I hear of people that are 65 being called. Are people not getting vaccines according to age?
Lynda Elmore
26:47
Betty Adams, I agree. It is very frustrating. An 84 year old should not have to wait a long period of time. I know people who are getting vaccinated that should not be ahead of an 84 year old
lgreen
27:16
What are the implications to employees from a legal and liability standpoint for supporting, incentivizing or hosting vaccinations?
Betty Adams
27:35
Same here. One of my seniors is 93 years old and still hasn't been contacted.
Brenda
28:21
My mom is 89 and has been registered and not contacted yet

If our business is in 1b, should we encourage employees to sign up on their own? Or should we wait until we are contacted by VDH?
Kristin
33:29
We are in the same situation. We are a YMCA and have had children in our care since June. I can't get anyone to call me back or email me regarding vaccinations for our childcare staff. However, our school system's teachers got their vaccines on Sat.
Carol Glaub
33:45
We are a manufacturing company and are eligible, I submitted a list of all of our employees to the health department as requested. Are they on the list to be contacted about appointments? How will this work?
PCarter
34:51

Petrina Carter: We have instructors who are delivering training on the SVHEC campus to high school students in Halifax, Mecklenburg, and Charlotte Counties. We have been open since August, even when the public schools were not conducting face-to-face. I called the local health department and was given a VDH email to send our list of faculty and staff. I have also reached out to Halifax County Public Schools to determine if our faculty could be included in the clinics happening on the weekends. But, still no luck getting responses.
Kristin
35:15
When I inquired with the school system how they were able to get their teachers vaccinated, I was told they were contacted by VDH. I have already registered my staff on the portal, but I haven't been contacted.
Tammer
35:33
I registered with the Health Department because we are classified as an essential employer! Will I need to register with Sovah as well? What is the timeline of when we will receive the vaccines?
Annette Lawson
35:38

Lynda Elmore

how can I go about getting an employer-based vaccination clinic for my manufacturing facility?
Betty Adams
41:35
I contacted the VDH several weeks ago to offer the use of the SVHEC as community vaccination location with SVCC nursing instructors and students available to administer shots. I hope we can serve in this role, but I have not yet received a response.

For people who have had COVID, do they have an immunity to the virus? I have heard they should not be vaccinated for at least 90 days after the diagnosis. Is this true and why?
PCarter
42:14
I'm going to give you my contact information...we are able to assist in getting volunteers to get the population you are seeking to the sites. We can provide transportation and space for vaccinations in Halifax and Mecklenburg Counties. Let us know what you need. Petrina Carter 434-575-7916 x224 or pcarter@tricountyva.org.

Is it true that City of Danville employees beyond first responders are eligible to get the vaccine? Even those with no comorbidities, and those who have the ability to work remotely? I have several friends who are city employees and were able to get appointments for the shot, even though they do not fit any of the 1A or 1B categories.
Penny Hall - VDH
