How do you get appointments?
Do you need an appointment?
How do you sign up on-line?
If vaccines can be administered in the workplace, what actions can companies take to encourage employees to get vaccinated?
Do employers who have people currently eligible need to give employees verification of eligibility or a code to get vaccinated?
What does an 84 year old in Southside Virginia have to do to become vaccinated? Aigned up at the health department but is way down in the list for the vaccination. Why would an 84 year old be way down on the list?
After someone has received both shots, do they have to quarantine if they are exposed to COVID-19?
How can vaccines be scheduled to better avoid downtime - particularly in the case of the second shot? Should companies discourage mass vaccinations of all employees at once to avoid this?
I signed up my seniors online 3 or 4 weeks ago, but when I checked with the local health department this week they were not in the system. So, we added them over the phone. Where is the online pre-registration data housed if not at the local health departments. Will this delay getting my seniors vaccinated? Very frustrating.
My senior mom has been on a list her in Halifax for three weeks or so and has not been called however I hear of people that are 65 being called. Are people not getting vaccines according to age?
Betty Adams, I agree. It is very frustrating. An 84 year old should not have to wait a long period of time. I know people who are getting vaccinated that should not be ahead of an 84 year old
What are the implications to employees from a legal and liability standpoint for supporting, incentivizing or hosting vaccinations?
Same here. One of my seniors is 93 years old and still hasn't been contacted.
My mom is 89 and has been registered and not contacted yet
Can you provide several links for our employees? We are a manufacturing facility who are deemed essential.

Please ignore the first part of that message, it pasted from another document. The question is at the bottom.

If our business is in 1b, should we encourage employees to sign up on their own? Or should we wait until we are contacted by VDH?
We are in the same situation. We are a YMCA and have had children in our care since June. I can't get anyone to call me back or email me regarding vaccinations for our childcare staff. However, our school system's teachers got their vaccines on Sat.
We are a manufacturing company and are eligible, I submitted a list of all of our employees to the health department as requested. Are they on the list to be contacted about appointments? How will this work?
I will transport, we are willing to set up a site here if needed.
Petrina Carter: We have instructors who are delivering training on the SVHEC campus to high school students in Halifax, Mecklenburg, and Charlotte Counties. We have been open since August, even when the public schools were not conducting face-to-face. I called the local health department and was given a VDH email to send our list of faculty and staff. I have also reached out to Halifax County Public Schools to determine if our faculty could be included in the clinics happening on the weekends. But, still no luck getting responses.
When I inquired with the school system how they were able to get their teachers vaccinated, I was told they were contacted by VDH. I have already registered my staff on the portal, but I haven't been contacted.
I registered with the Health Department because we are classified as an essential employer! Will I need to register with Sovah as well? What is the timeline of when we will receive the vaccines?
How long will it be before the VDH contacts our local Martinsville/Henry County businesses?
And there are seniors who are vulnerable but are way down on the list. I just don't understand
I cannot get/find the portal. I have health issues, qualify for 1 b and my husband has issues as well.
how many days should be between 1st round and 2nd round?
Once you register on VDH websites, will you be notified of other availability sites that are administering vaccines?
how can I go about getting an employer-based vaccination clinic for my manufacturing facility?
I contacted the VDH several weeks ago to offer the use of the SVHEC as community vaccination location with SVCC nursing instructors and students available to administer shots. I hope we can serve in this role, but I have not yet received a response.
For people who have had COVID, do they have an immunity to the virus? I have heard they should not be vaccinated for at least 90 days after the diagnosis. Is this true and why?
I'm going to give you my contact information...we are able to assist in getting volunteers to get the population you are seeking to the sites. We can provide transportation and space for vaccinations in Halifax and Mecklenburg Counties. Let us know what you need. Petrina Carter 434-575-7916 x224 or email@example.com.

COVID illness does promote antibodies but not as high a level as with the vaccine.. Therefore, we recommend having BOTH doses of vaccine
From Dr. Spillman
We want everyone to receive the vaccination; we just don't receive enough yet.
I work for a telecommunications company and we fall in the 1C group. Any ideas when we will be available to receive the vaccine?
Is someone who works in the West Piedmont District but lives in Danville eligible to be vaccinated with West Piedmont?
What are the logistics to provide the vaccine for employees? Will the Health Department arrange to be on site in a central location within the community?
Scott J Spillmann MD MPH
@ Ms. Adams: we look forward to working with your group. Please contact Ms. Julia Gwaltney (nurse manager) or Mr. Christopher Garrett (Emergency Planner)
What is the long term efficacy against mutated strains of COVID19?
What is someone recently finished an antidotic, is there a wait period before getting vaccinated?
Scott J Spillmann MD MPH
Can you still transmit the disease to others after you are vaccinated?
How do you know that the vaccine is really safe? Was the approval process just as rigorous as any other vaccine that took years to market?
Its there a separate link for manufacturing facilities to use to register>
Do you encourage people to go where they live or where they work for vaccinations?
I call the local health dept to get added to the wait list in mid January. Do I need to do anything for online registration?
If you had the first vaccine, but did not receive a scheduled appointment to get the second vaccine, what should you do?
Can you do these calls as an update on a regular basis so we have the latest information?
Is it better for individuals to register or have an employer set up a clinic onsite?
initially the second vaccine was to be issued 30 days after the first. I've heard that it has increased to 45 days. What is the maximum amount of days for the second vaccine to be issued and still be effective?
We can do update calls and this program is recorded if you need to hear any of the points again or share with others. Also let us know if there are additional things you need us to address and the SoVa COVID Task Force will try to address your issues
This is a list of the health districts in Virginia and links to their websites https://www.vdh.virginia.gov/local-health-districts/
Susan, What are the priority issues that have surfaced from your clients related to the vaccine?
Regarding this new portal for scheduling an appointment: will that be emailed to those who have registered and received the original link but can't get an appointment?
Links that may assist your company
Is it true that City of Danville employees beyond first responders are eligible to get the vaccine? Even those with no comorbidities, and those who have the ability to work remotely? I have several friends who are city employees and were able to get appointments for the shot, even though they do not fit any of the 1A or 1B categories.
Penny Hall - VDH
Karen, yes the registration link would be sent securely to the registrant to schedule their vaccine.
